Penn Vet’s Ryan Hospital in Philadelphia provides care for dogs, cats, and other domestic/companion animals, handling more than 31,000 patient visits a year, 8,200 of which are emergency cases. Our board-certified specialists, residents, interns, nurses, and students are dedicated to keeping all companion animals healthy and providing the highest level of care.
Penn Vet’s Emergency Service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year — is the region’s only Level I Facility and designated Veterinary Trauma Center. As one of the most experienced and well-established emergency services in the world, the Emergency Service at Ryan Hospital offers an unsurpassed level of care that ensures patients have the best chance possible for survival and recovery. The Service is staffed by faculty and staff veterinarians who are board-certified in the field of emergency and critical care, as well as specialty trained and certified technicians.

Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center is located in Kennett Square, PA, and provides care for horses and livestock/farm animals. The hospital handles more than 4,000 patient visits a year, while the Field Service treats nearly 36,000 patients at local farms. New Bolton Center has played a pivotal role in the development of many specialties that define veterinary medicine today. Our services range from primary care to the most complicated and sophisticated medical and surgical techniques.
